Letters
This has been a long time coming, and let me begin with a preface—the script for this zine was written for Suicide Prevention Day; relevant content warnings apply.
Late last year I took a mentorship with Winona Nelson, who guided me through the bulk of this project, and generously read over the script multiple times, and a huge thank to my friends who read the drafts, to my classmates who shared their time in multiple workshop sessions where we relived this story again and again. To me, it never really got easier, which is why it took so long to complete. It’s not perfect, it is messy and I refused to use rulers or adequate guidelines and in parts it is purposely unfinished, but I feel that it how it was meant to be.
So, at long last, may I present Letters, a zine about Dungeons & Dragons, grief, and art as letters to the loved and lost. It is written with love, for Connett, and for my friends the “Mysterious Gang,” who shared all that time together as adventurers in the Crusade of Moloch.
